Today, at about 4am I woke up to the sound of a cooing Pigeon. It was so early that I believe another bird must have told the bird to shut-up because I didn't hear this cooing again until 6am.
The sound reminded me of home where we used to have a massive Sugar Maple tree in our front yard with my room in an earshot of the birds singing in the morning. The coo offers calm, much more pleasant than the obnoxious crow calls or god for bid- dog barking that early in the am!
A friend once recommended a book called 'The Pigeon' about a Security Guard. A very unruffled read, if you will. I liked it.

Aside from a couple of missed acquaintance connections this passed weekend but not without effort, I enjoyed my weekend with a kick start of the televised Santa Anita Derby. I cannot wait for the 138th Kentucky Derby!
Sunday was Easter with lots of people out sharing time with family and enjoying the Spring weather! I took the day to venture to Santa Monica with the Rollerblades on the Strand early in the morning. Some shopping and great deals on the 3rd Street Promenade was a good way to cool down - the local street singers were amazingly good (much better than the Voice, X Factor, etc., etc.).
Then, off to the Rosebowl for some Flea Market finds for the rest of the day!
In preparation for an extended weekend trip to Seattle, I took the pooch to the Vet this AM for ridiculous flight regulations which clearly are meant for livestock and not the traveling company who can easily fit underneath the airplane seat in front of me. On to Taxes (looking for that refund) tonight and those glorious household chores for a return of a promisingly clean home.

As Anthony Davis of;
dominated the court with his blocked shots and mass, UK beat Kansas in the 2012 NCAA Championships Monday. Played in the Big Easy + a lovely town with rich history and not short on parties- it would have been a perfect setting to enjoy, as my brother in-law did!

The first few minutes were like watching a ping pong match!
As Kansas tried to recover to make a killer comeback in the final minutes, they failed to do so. They fought as the Terminator would do with more success.

With an odd desire, I've recently wanted to talk on a rotary phone while in this;
Gone are the days- wouldn't dream of it with a smart phone!! Could have saved that for a future entry. But why? It's on my mind, today!
