Standing in front of this glacial ice cave (me on the lower left)

Canoeing in solitude (that's me in the canoe)

A mundane day is here. The weather is beautiful but my ambition lacks. After a restless sleep with very disturbing obscure dreams which can hardly be explained, a sense of calm was found in the wee hours of early morning. ....Pause.

After writing the above, I further investigated what this might mean according to the stars. Believe it or not, it has assisted me before and today is no exception!! 2 sources were researched to get more explaination.
The Zodiac
First, @ astrology.com, my daily horoscope says;
You need to play more today. Even if you’re no fan of sports or games, you should still find ways to inject more fun into your routines, as your great energy is perfect for enjoying what you’ve got.

Second, @ yahoo astrology, my daily horoscope says;
Disturbing dreams don't have to ruin your waking days! Just because you had some night visions that were somewhat confusing or frightening doesn't mean that they are portending anything bad coming into your life. Sometimes a dream is just a dream -- your subconscious mind is just playing around with different ideas and images. There's no hidden puzzle for you to solve, so don't waste time today trying to figure them out. You'll have different dreams tonight.

Astrology may not be taken too seriously but there is certainly something in those stars + human interpretation somehow has a way to hammer it out. Incredible.

El Coyote has great authentic Mexican fair & atmosphere. Enhanced especially when with friends. Not my favorite Mexican food ever but the history of the place makes up for it. Within walking distance from the homefront, it's a breeze to ease into the weekend at this neighborhood spot.
After El Coyote last Friday, a visit to the Rosewood Tavern turned out to be a great place to stop. A variety of seating in its open industrial style space includes communal tables, bar tables & booth seating. The Clientele were late 20's to 30 somethings & seemingly on the pulse of today.

With 28 craft beers on tap and food served until 12:45pm weekend nights, this historical Fairfax District setting mid-city restaurant/bar is my favorite new place. It harks for my attention and I shall return.

Whitney in her better days singing "I wanna dance with somebody". Her funeral is Saturday. One thing can be said, she did not go quietly. XOXO

The best thing tha happend this week for me was dinner with a new friend for valentine's day & getting to meet the striking Lara Spencer.
Watch out for this bombshell lady, she's not only on Good Morning America + ABC News these days!

According to Wikipedia:

"Spencer created and produced two shows for HGTV based on her passions for Interior Design and Newscasting: A one-hour special that will air in April 2012 and a pilot for a flea market themed show. Lara Spencer's first book, "I Brake for Yard Sales", a guide on how to create high end looking rooms using second hand finds, is being published by Abrams Books in the spring of 2012."

Most people don't know this about me but I was a huge Whitney Houston fan. More than any other famous person on earth. I was 9 when her first album appeared on LP. Not until her death on Saturday as I was taking a nap (between 3:30 & 4:30pm) that I realized her impact on my life.

The appearence of Whitney alone at age 22 on this album cover was something I've been inspired by my whole life. Her poise, grace & glamor (traits my own mother possesses) is something I aspire to (not hardly achieved) and with her amazing voice to back it up- she was the real deal. It seems odd to express this about a life of someone I've never met but that's what inspirations are.

I can listen to her voice over and over. Her beauty angelic.

Early songs & many more spoke of self love, love for others & finding the one to love. I even remember her performance in the TV movie, Cinderella, with Brandi. With more talent than many could dream, accomplishments more than most in a lifetime & natural beauty that surpasses- her years of trouble are not to overshadow.

Grief is what I feel of her loss. To see her sheer talented unmatched voice, this YouTube clip is incredible. This was Whitney Houston- her introduction to the world.

We Love You Whitney! THANK YOU!

Then, a global show for artist, Damien Hirst, for his body of coloured spot paintings through The Gagosian Gallery with 11 locations in New York, London, Paris, Los Angeles was a feast for the eyes and happiness in spirit. Through February 18, 2012 - this is not to be missed.....& I didn't!

My mind has been swimming with notions of my last entry. Mainly regarding the Beat Generation. A book that comes to mind that I own & read in my formidable mid-twenties was an outstanding read called;

It was an interesting and somewhat jarring non-fiction/life story perspective read. However, quite fascinating as a book of American History taking place in the middle of the country in Chicago on the famed North Clark Street (still quite the happening destination). I highly recommend it + sure to put ideas into your head. Of course, this is only a smidge of how the Beat Generation has influenced our world today from Indy Music to Veganism Foodies to early hippies + without a doubt, free speech.

Something a little more tame in my day was returning my vehicle to the Audi Dealership for its factory recall for California Emissions standards. It took me to Santa Monica this morning and I returned to work and home in this beauty!

I can hear 'the Beats' heckling me now..............
