I really enjoy this band. They are pop but it's not American pop so it has more of an edge. They experiment with new sounds. Fun party music. An interesting new album dropped on March 14th, 2011 called Safari Disco Club. You may recognize this first image from earlier work...

A couple weekends ago I had the pleasure of going to a few different events but with a Saturday art opening featuring Iranian artists at a downtown LA art gallery was the most fun! The exhibit opened simultaneously with a gallery in Tehran.

I went with my new friends Christian from Germany and Mai from Sweden. We then met up with a couple of other new friends Olga from Russia, Paula from Brazil and Frank from New York! It was one of the better evenings I've had in a very long time. Extremely interesting and thought provoking. What's not to like?? Very fun.

On a side note; the Japanese Earthquake, Tsunami and threat of nuclear destruction is on my mind with thoughts and prayers out to the people of that nation.

March 1, 2011

I finished watching Gran Torino on DVD, a great movie shot in a classic way. The rolling credits were done in a very classic movie way that I like to see. With Clint Eastwood being the star, arguably the Gran Torino, the movie is not to be missed. It refers to the generation gaps, cultural differences, the complexities of life, includes symbolic references and encompasses the very best of human nature in that of friendship.

In the DVD features, it talks about how a car can represent a guys personality. It was timeley since I was thinking of a car I would love to own. This would be the Lincoln Town Car.

As I thought of this while driving, I looked up at a new Billboard for a release date of Mathew McConaughey's new movie, The Lincoln Lawyer. There it was, the Lincoln car.

I might add that I will most likely watch this movie because of the car and not the actors. How's that for product placement?!?
